Hope for Women
Founded in 2003 by Evan Goldsmith, Hope for Women is a Fair Trade, eco-friendly company that sells Tagua jewelry from the rainforests of Colombia and organic wildflower greetings cards made by disadvantaged craftswomen from the Indian Himalayas and El Salvador.
All of Hope For Women’s products are handmade by women artisans, providing life-changing employment that benefits them and their community. There are five collections of greeting cards featuring a number of handmade locally sourced floral designs, each reflecting the style and creativity of the artisan.
Hope for Women is dedicated to maintaining the highest socially and environmentally friendly standards. Four of the five card collections use 100 percent “tree free” paper, made from recycled cotton, and all of the packaging is compostable or recyclable and is printed with non-toxic vegetable ink.
Hope for Women’s Tagua bracelets, necklaces and earrings are made from the “Ivory of the Rainforest”, or Tagua nut, which is sustainably harvested from the Colombian rainforests and then crafted into unique designs by women artisans in Bogota.
For the 2010 holiday season, Hope for Women launched a limited edition collection of “Fair Trade Angel” ornaments and decorations, available online only at http://www.hopeforwomen.com/lifestyles.
